GUÉNILLE, LA (The Rag). AKA – "Reel de la guénille." AKA and see "Rags (The)." French-Canadian, Reel (cut time). D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AA'BB'CC'. Hart & Sandell (2001) note the title refers to a piece of cloth, and that it is a commonly heard tune in Québec. The attribute the tune's popularity in part to singer Mary Travers "La Boduc" who set words to it. The first strain of "La guénille" resembles the second strain of A.J. Boulay's "Quadrille du nord-ouest 4ème partie."
