CHARLES McHUGH, THE ROBBER. Irish, Double Jig. A Minor. Standard tuning (fiddle). AAB. See notes for "Cathal Mhac Aodh," "Charles MacHugh."

Paddy Conneely

Source for notated version: The melody was collected by William Forde (from whose collection Joyce obtained it) who had it from "Paddy Conneely, the Galway piper," a man who contributed many tunes to various collectors such as Forde and Petrie. There is a sketch of him in The Irish Penny Journal (1841, p. 105).

Printed sources: Joyce (Old Irish Folk Music and Songs), 1909; No. 463, pp. 258-259.
