An untitled air that collector George Petrie believed was a planxty or dance tune "apparently by Carolan." He indicated it was a variant of a tune he had collected, called "Do what you please but take care of my cap", from the sculptor Patrick MacDowell in 1859. A version of the melody is contained in the mid-19th century Sliabh Luachra music manuscript once in the possession of D. Curtin of Stagmount, Rockchapel, Co Cork (No. 80, p. 35 [1]). Francis O'Neill printed the tune in his Music of Ireland (1903, No. 688) as "Planxty O'Daly," a title that Donal O'Sullivan concludes is wrong.
