FAIREST NYMPH THE VALLEYS, THE. AKA - "Fairest Nymphs the Valleys or Mountains Ever Bred (The)." AKA and see "Gravesande." English, G Dorian. Standard tuning (fiddle). AAB. The air appears in Friesche Lust-Hof (1634), Sir John Hawkins' transcripts, and Urania (Amsterdam, 1663). It also was included in the music manuscript collection of virginal (keyboard) player Elizabeth Rogers (1656, p. 3)
