FINNEA LASSES. AKA - "Finnea Lassies." AKA and see "Killarney Wonder (1)." Irish, Schottische or Highland Fling. A Dorian. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB. The melody was recorded by Donegal fiddler Hughie Gillespie in New York in the 78 RPM era (paired with "Gurren's Castle,"-there is some confusion of tunes and titles, but "Finnea Lasses" is the first tune in Sligo fiddler Michael Coleman's "Killarney Wonder" set (for Coleman's version see "Killarney Wonder (1)"), while the the Highland "Gurren's" is a version of the Scottish "Miss Sarah Drummond of Perth (1)").
