JACKSON'S MORNING BREEZE (Leoithne Mhaidine Mhic Shiacais). AKA and see "Girls for Sale," "Micky Quinn's," "O'Brien of Newtown," "Séamus Connolly's Jig." Irish, Jig. D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. Source O'Brien played the tune as an untitled jig, however, the "Jackson's Morning Breeze" title appeared with the tune in a manuscript provided Breathnach by Mrs. O'Sullivan, County Limmerick, where it also appeared in the ms. as "Girls for Sale." Editor Jackie Small (CRÉ V) suggests that the jig may be related to the better-known "Tobin's Favorite," which it resembles in the first strain. Further evidence for the link is that "Tobins" had the associated titles "Pretty Young Girls for Sale" and "Girls for Sale--the Old Way."
