JOHN BOWE'S [3]. AKA and see "Land of Sunshine." Irish, Reel. C Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The tune is a Martin Mulhaire composition, originally entitled "Land of Sunshine," written soon after Mulhaire came to the United States in 1958. He was born in Eyrecourt, County Galway, into a musical family, and won his first All-Ireland championship at age 17. He played with the Aughrim Slopes and Killimor Ceili bands, and, in 1957, he was asked by Paddy Canney and P.J. Hayes to join the famous Tulla Ceili Band for several tours. He has resided in Flushing, Queens, N.Y., for many years.
