MR. JAMES JENKINS' FAVORITE. AKA - "James Jenkin's Favorite." Scottish, Slow Strathspey. D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AAB. One of the one hundred and thirty published compositions by Nathaniel Gow (1763-1831). It ranks among the twenty or so best, according to Mr. Troup of Ballater. Nathaniel also composed a tune called “Nathaniel Gow’s Compliments to Mr. W.K. Jenkins,” also appearing in the Fifth Collection—were the Jenkins men related? See also John Pringle's "Mr. James Jenkin's Strathspey."
