MARCEL MARTIN. American, Reel. E Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. Composed by William Welling (Averill Park, New York) who told Susan Songer (Portland Collection) that Marcel Martin was his tough boss of long ago, when a young Welling was employed as a dishwasher. "I wrote this tune (c. 1985) to get over my dislike of him," quotes Songer. Welling is the author of The Hartford Collection.
