OLD K.C., THE. Old-Time. This blues-tinged tune was recorded in Atlanta, Georgia, in 1929 for Columbia Records by one-time Tenn. state fiddle champion Jess Young (Chattanooga, Tenn.). The tune is an instrumental version of a song called variously "K.C. Moan" or "K.C. Railroad Moan," "K.C. Railroad," and "Kansas City Railroad Blues," and was learned by Young from African-American guitarist Howard Barnes.
