DRUNKEN BILLY GOAT. AKA and see "Rocky Mountain Goat," "Mud Fence." American, Reel (cut time). USA; Texas, Missouri. A Major. Standard or AEae tuning (fiddle). AA'BB: AABBCC (Brody). "Drunken Billy Goat" is one of four tunes in Texas fiddler Eck Robertson's "Brilliancy" medley, recorded in 1929. The other tunes in the medley are "Old/Little Billy Wilson," "Wake Up Susan (1)," and "Bill Cheatum (1)." David Brody's transcription in The Fiddler's Fakebook (1983) begins with the first strain of "Wake Up Susan," and is not really a part of "Drunken Billy Goat."
