GIGUE DE L'ÉPLUCHETTE (The Peeler's Gigue).   French-Canadian, Reel (cut time). G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AA'BB'C. "Gigue de l'épluchette" was recorded in 1943 by Jean-Ludger Foucault (1915-1989), originally from Cap-de-la-Madeleine (Trois-Rivières), Mauricie, Québec. Foucault recorded some 26 sides for Starr Records and Apex from 1943-1956. The reel is a version of "Jack Delad" according to Olivier Demers, and of "Five Mile Chase (1)," according to Daniel Roy.
