Back to He has come back to Erin

HE HAS COME BACK TO ERIN. Irish, Air ("lively", 6/8 time). E Minor. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB.

Source for notated version: "From the whistling of Joe Martin of Kilfinane Co. Limerick, a rambling working man with a great knowledge of Irish airs and songs, and much natural musical taste" [Joyce]. Joyce may have picked it up from Martin's whistling, but it is note-for-note identical to an untitled air published by George Petrie in 1855.

Printed sources: Joyce (Old Irish Folk Music and Songs), 1909; No. 185, p. 92. Petrie (Ancient Music of Ireland), 1855; No. 156, p. 103 (appears as untitled "Air").
