IMPERIAL QUICK STEP, THE. English, March (2/4 time). D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB (Callaghan): AABBCCDD (O'Farrell). The first two parts of the melody printed by O'Farrell can be found in the late 19th century music manuscript collection of William Andrews (Sheepstor, Devon), under the same title. The whole tune, apparently a direct copy from O'Farrell's volume, were entereed into the large 1840 music manuscript collection of multi-instrumentalist John Rook, of Waverton, near Wigton, Cumbria.
