IRISH LILT [8]. English, Country Dance Tune (2/4 time). D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. This is the second tune of a set of five (“Lango Lee (1)," “Irish Lilt (8),” ”Trip to the Dargle (A),” “Priest and his Boots (1) (The)” and “Sheela na Gigg”) collectively called "Irish Lilt," printed in London by T. Straight and T. Skillern c. 1775. The note with the tune says the set was danced on stage at the Theatre Royal.

"Irish Lilt [8]" is a version of the large "Rose Tree (The)" tune family that includes "Killeavy,"
