The tune was recorded for the Library of Congress by folklorist/musicologist Vance Randolph (1892-1980) from Ozarks Mountains fiddlers in the early 1940's. The tune is a variant of the wide-spread schottische family whose most famous member is "Flop Eared Mule (1)."
