REEL DU PLOMBIER (Plumber's Reel). AKA - "2ème partie du Set carré à Pitou Boudreault," "Reel de la bombarde. French-Canadian, Reel (cut time). G Mixolydian. Standard tuning (fiddle). ABB' (LaMadeleine). "Reel du plombier" was recorded by Montreal fiddler Joseph Allard (1873-1947) in Montreal in October, 1928 (released by Victor Records in January of 1929). Another Montreal fiddler, J.O. LaMadeleine, recorded his version a few months later, for Starr Records, released in March, 1929. Both are fairly faithful versions of "Paddy on the Turnpike (1)"
