REEL DU PRINTEMPS (Springtime Reel). AKA and see "Charlevoix Reel," "Presto (2)," "Reel des éboulements," "Reel du Faubourg (2)," "Reel éboulement." French-Canadian, Reel. A Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AA'BB'. The tune under the "Reel du printemps" title was recorded by Montreal fiddler Joseph Allard (1865-1947) for Victor records in 1944 (released on the Bluebird label), however, it is a popular session tune under the title "Reel des éboulements" (The Landslide), after the recording by Jos Bouchard. However, Allard originally recorded the tune as "Reel du Faubourg (2)" in 1937 (Bluebird B-1103-B). See also the version as "Presto (2)" in J.A. Boucher's printed volume Le Répertoire du Violoneux (1933).
