REEL DU VILONEUX. AKA - "Reel du violonneux." French-Canadian, Reel (cut time). A Major ('A' part) & D Major ('B' part). Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The title on LeMadeleine's 1939 recording may be a label misprint for "violoneux" (violinists), but at any rate the tune is a different one than Joseph Allard's "Gigue du Violoneux/Reel du violoneux (Le)." The opening few bars of "Reel du viloneux" use the same melodic material as "Bonaparte Crossing the Rhine (1)." See also Isidore Soucy's related "Reel de la paix."
