6/8 d'ANDRÉ ALAIN [1]. AKA - "Andre Alain's Jig," "6/8 des enfants." The tune is sourced to Québec fiddler Andre Alain (1931-2000) from St-Basile-de-Portneuf, near Québec City, who called the tune "6/8 des enfants." Alain was influenced by the playing of his uncle, Armand Chastenay, and itinerant fiddler William "Quéteux" Tremblay, His style has been much imitated by younger players.
