Ville de Baie St-Paul is a city in Québec on the northern shore of the Saint Lawrence River mid-way between Québec City and Tadoussac. It was where Cirque du Soleil originated in the 1980's. The tune has been recorded under a variety of names, but seems to have been widespread in the province from the Gaspé to Saguenay, Charlevoix and Québec City, often as a quadrille part.
