APPLE BLOSSOM [1]. American, Reel (cut time). Standard or ADae tunings (fiddle). ABB (Brody): AA'BB' (Phillips). Texas fiddler Eck Robertson recorded the tune twice in the 1920's, in duets with two different fiddlers (Cranfill and Gilliland), although his recording company, Victor, chose not to release the cuts. The tune has struggled to gain popularity, and Robertson biographer Chris Geortzen notes that "Apple Blossom (1)" is rarely heard today.

[Eck] played that piece while in Los Angeles to take part in a folk festival in 1964, while at a coffee house called the Golden Vanity (Figure 72b). It was an unexciting moment in a generally fun evening![1]
