CAILÍN GAN CHIALL (A girl without sense). Irish, Jig. A Minor. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. A close variant of "Bryan O'Lynn [1]." The melody appears under this title in the mid-19th century music manuscripts of Church of Ireland cleric biography:James Goodman (1828-1896). Goodman was an Irish speaker and an uilleann piper who collected from tradition in Cork and elsewhere in Munster, although he obtained tunes from manuscripts and printed sources as well.
