CAIRISTIONA CHAIMBEL (Christy Campbell). AKA and see "Miller of Drone (1) (The)" (for which authorship was claimed in 1801 by John Pringle and in 1802 by Nathanial Gow. A tune by the same name but in 6/8 time (and bearing no musical relation) is listed in the contents of David Young's Bodleian Manuscript (1740)--see "Miller of Drone (2) (The)). Cape Breton, Strathspey. A Major. Standard, AEae, ADae tunings (fiddle). AABB'. "Christy Campbell" is one of the most frequently recorded reels by Cape Breton musicians.
