CHEVIOT WALTZ. AKA and see "Memories of Dick Fleming." English, Waltz. England, Northumberland. The original title of Ron Purvis's "Memories of Dick Fleming," named for the Border range called the Cheviot Hills. Purvis lives in the Border country of Northumberland, in the extreme north of England bordering on East Lothian, Scotland. The tunes follow traditional Scottish Border country style. Purvis was a fiddler in the Border Strathspey and Reel Society for many years, and published a collection of tunes in 1995, A Border Fiddler's Tunes.
