DOUCETTE'S DREAM. Canadian, Two-Step (cut time). Canada, Prince Edward Island. G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. Source Joseph Doucette (Prince Edward Island) said off-handedly the tune was "something he dreamt," and the title presumably came from Ken Perlman, called the unnamed tune after his source. However, the first strain is identical to the "Dorset Four Hand Reel (2)," a country dance, and "Clog Dance" in Scottish publisher James S. Kerr's Merry Melodies, vol. 4 (c. 1880's, No. 273, p. 29).
Source for notated version: from fiddler Joseph Doucette (b. 1910, West Prince County, Prince Edward Island) [Perlman].
