DUKE OF BUCCLEUGH AND HIS FENCIBLES, THE. Scottish. Glen (1891) finds the earliest appearance of this tune in Joshua Campbell's 1778 collection (p. 55). Campbell had several tunes in his collection named in honor of the regiments raised by the nobility (see "Duke of Gordon and His Volunteers (The)" and "Duke of Hamilton and His Volunteers (The).")
