GRANNY PLAYS THE FIDDLE. American, Reel. D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. It has been suggested the "Granny Plays the Fiddle" is an Old-Time, duple meter version of the well-known jig "Haste to the Wedding (1)," although I see little basis for this comparison. However, the first strain does compare with Edward Riley's untitled "Quick Step (70)."
