G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. Caoimhin Mac Aoidh credits Donegal fiddler Tommy Peoples' recording of the tune on the CCE label for popularizing the tune. Peoples' source is the printing in Cole's 1000/Ryans Mammoth Collection, a version that features descending 6th passages in the 'B' part played in reel time!
