HOP SQUIRREL. AKA and see "Stoney Point (1)," "Stony Point (1)." Old-Time, Breakdown. USA, southwestern Va. A tune and tune name peculiar to the Franklin/Floyd County area of southwestern Va. (Tom Carter & Blanton Owen, 1976). Bill Rogers (Lodi, CA) writes to report that the late Wade Enloe of Eldon, Missouri (the north Ozarks), played the tune under the title "Hop Skip Squirrel."
