JAMES WATT'S STRATHSPEY. Scottish, Strathspey. A Dorian. Standard tuning (fiddle). AAB. The title refers probably to James Watt of Pennan, 1832-1909, the son of a Pennan, Aberdeenshire, fisherman. He was a fiddler and fiddle maker and a sailor who later became teacher at Pennan School. See also the companion "James Watt's Reel" and Watt's composition "Pennan Den."
