JOHN SIMI'S. AKA and see "Highland Schottische (The)," "McConnell's Highland (The)." Irish, Highland. Ireland, County Donegal. G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AAB. A popular highland in County Donegal, the title refers to the renowned fiddler John Doherty–'Simi' being the Doherty family nickname. It was recorded by Doherty for CCE as simply "Highland Schottische."
