JULIA DELANEY [2]. Irish, Reel. D Minor/Dorian. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB (Silberberg): AABB' (Songer). A variant of "Julia Delaney (1)"; apart from the key change, there is more similarity in the first strain of both versions, with diverging 'B' parts. This is the popular session version. Paul de Grae notes that this variant version is similar to O'Neill's "Groves of Mt. Talbot (The)" (communicated to him from a musician named John Kelly, of San Francisco), and P.W. Joyce's "Glenloe". More distanced resemblances may be found, finds de Grae, in minor-mode settings of "Lawson's Favourite" and "Maude Miller".
