BLUE BIRD (SCHOTTISCHE). American, Schottische. USA, Arizona. C Major ('A' part) & G Major ('B' part) {Kartchner}: D Major ('A' part) & A Major ('B' part) {Ruth}. Standard tuning (fiddle). ABA. Learned by Arizona fiddler Kenner C. Kartchner around the turn of the 20th century. There were several "Blue Bird" schottische tunes published in the 19th century, but this tune is a variant of the large and wide-spread "Rochester Schottische"/"What the Devil Ails You? (2)" tune family.
