BRIDE'S FAVOURITE. AKA and see "Barness Gap," "King of the Pipers (The)," "O'Brien's." Irish, Jig. G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AA'BB'CC. This three-part jig is sometimes credited to the great Co. Mayo/New York fiddler John McGrath (1900-1955), although this cannot be verified. "Kip's Jig/Pet of the Pipers" is related in the first strain. The titles of this tune and "Tansey's Favourite (2)" were reversed on the Steeleye Span album "Below the Salt."
