Stone bridge at the Falls of Feugh, Banchory, 1919.
BRIG O' FEUGH, THE. Scottish (originally), Cape Breton; Reel (cut time). D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AAB (Milne). Composed by fiddler Peter Milne, "The Tarland Minstrel", a mentor and sometime partner of wikipedia:James_Scott_Skinner (1843-1927), printed in Charles Middleton's Selection of Strathspeys & Reels, etc., arranged Expressly . . . by Peter Milne, Violinist late of Aberdeen . . .

Skinner composed a companion strathspey (see "Brig o' Feugh (The) (Strathspey)").

The title refers to a stone bridge and accompanying viewing footbridge that span the River Feugh immediately south of its confluence with the River Dee, just outside Banchory. It is a picturesque spot, where cascades speed the stream, and a good place to watch salmon leap as they travel upriver to spawn.
