BUCKTON RAKE. AKA and see "Nelson's Pillar." English, Reel. England, Northumberland. D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AAB. There are several Bucktons in England, although perhaps the title refers to Buckton or Buckden, East Riding, Yorkshire. There is a bridle path there called the Buckden Rake that follows the probable route of a Roman road, although there may be no connection with the tune title except the similarity of names.
Fr. John Quinn finds the tune cognate with "Nelson's Pillar."
