AABB'.  The title refers to Irish rapparee Charles Dempsey of County Laois, called 'Cahir na gCapall' (Charles of the Horses) due to his prowess as a rider.  The title of the air refers to a daring leap to escape from the authorities when Charles and his horse leaped from a tower window of Lea Castle near Portarlinton.
