CHAMPAGNE CHARLIE. English, Air and March (4/4 time). D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB. A 19th century music-hall song composed c. 1866 by Alfred Lee with lyrics by George Leybourne (the latter also performed it and helped popularlize it). Sweet's note indicates the melody was played by the Chester, Connecticut, Fife and Drum Corps.
