Connie Walsh was a Sliabh Luachra fiddle player who emigrated to America. Sliabh Luachra accordion player Johnny O'Leary remembered only this one slide: "...he used always play that tune before--in any dance that was his first and only slide, I'd say, he had. He hadn't many more of them I'd say" [Moylan]. The accompaniment begins on the subdominant chord.
