DUMFRIES BOWLING GREEN. AKA and see "Lord Dumfries's Bowling Green." English, Scottish; Reel. C Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB. A piping tune in the music manuscript collections of Joseph Barnes (Carlisle, Cumbria, 1762) and John Rook (Waverton, Cumbria, 1840). It was published by fiddle-composer John Riddell (1718-95) of Ayr in his second collection of 1782 under the title "Lord Dumfries's Bowling Green."
