GARLAND OF ROSES. AKA and see "Garland of Love (The)." English, Jig (6/8 time). D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. O'Farrell has no note regarding provenance. The tune was known under a variety of titles in England in the late 18th/early 19th century, including "Garland of Love (The)" (see note for "annotation:Garland of Love (The)") for more. A 6/8 tune by this title appears in Straight and Skillern's Two Hundred & Four Favourite Country Dances, vol. 1 (London, 1775), but it is a different tune than the one O'Farrell prints.
