"General Lake's March" is contained in the 1817 music manuscript collection of musician and Irish teacher Patrick McGahon, of Dungooley, County Louth, on the Armagh border. The tune may be the same "General Lake's March" published in William Rolfe's The Naval & Military Gentleman's Complete Musical-Compendium (London, 1800).
