HEN AND A COCK WENT OUT TOGETHER [2], A (Cearc agar coileac a d'imtig lé céile). Irish, Air. E Flat Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB. This Munster-collected melody appears in Petrie's Ancient Music of Ireland (1855), p. 162, and is related to Bunting's "Londubh agus an Cheirseach (An)." Petrie prudishly remarks "The Irish song to this air is also inadmissible in this work."
