HUMOURS OF COVENT GARDEN, THE. English, Country Dance Tune (6/8 time). G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. Covent Garden [1] is the name of both a district London and a famous theater. It was a fashionable place in the 17th century, but by the 18th century it had become increasingly disreputable, with coffee houses, taverns, brothels and other such low establishments competing for the crowds that still attended the theaters in the district.
