KING PIN JIG. AKA and see "Bob Chadduck's (Jig)." American, 'Sand Jig' (2/4 time). A Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The 'jig' refers not to the familiar Irish jig in 6/8 time, but rather a type of syncopated old-time banjo tune often used as a vehicle for clog dancing. It is often called a "straight" or "sand" jig, the latter because is was performed on a sanded stage to facilitate the steps. See also the related first part of "Bob Chadduck's."
