LADS OF/O' ELGIN, THE. Scottish, Strathspey. A Dorian (Glen): A Mixolydian (Bremner). Standard tuning (fiddle). AAB. John Glen (1891) finds the earliest printing of the tune in Robert Bremner's 1757 collection, where it is set as a reel. It also was included in the [James] Gillespie Manuscript of Perth (1768, p. 106).
