"Lady Templeton's" was published by William Bradbury Ryan in his Ryan's Mammoth Collection (1883), however, the identical tune had been published only a year or two earlier as a generically-titled "Lancashire Clog" in Elias Howe's Musician's Omnibus Nos. 6 & 7 (Boston, 1880-1882). Considering that Ryan was an employee of the Howe music publishing concern it is curious where the new title came from in the intervening period, but it was not the only such Howe tune to acquire a new name in Ryan's collection.
