LOUGHREA LASSES (1), THE (Na Cailinde Ua Loc-Riabac). Irish, Slow Air (2/4 time). D Minor. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB. See also P.W. Joyce's (simplified) setting under the title "Na Mna Deasa an Bhaile-Locha-Ribhach/Pretty Lasses of Loughrea." Paul de Grae suggests the second strain of the tune may be an addition by James O'Neill, as is perhaps the more florid ornamented setting.
Source for notated version: James O'Neill [O'Neill]. Chicago Police Sergeant and fiddler James O'Neill, originally from County Down, served as Francis O'Neill's transcriber and collaborator for his early volumes.
