"Merry Bagpiper" was entered into Book 2 of the large mid-19th century music manuscript collection of County Cork uilleann piper and Church of Ireland cleric wikipedia:James_Goodman_(musicologist (1827-1896). It is a reel setting of a Highland schottische called "The Bagpipe" composed by amateur musician and composer Alexander Leburn (1767-1836) of Auchtermuchty, Fife.
